3-Layer

3-Layer Gore-Tex

3-layer Gore-Tex jackets combine:

The outer fabric
The Gore-Tex membrane
And a protective inner layer

All three are bonded together into a single fabric.

In real-world terms:

Lighter and more streamlined
More durable over time
Better at handling long days, hiking and rougher use

3-layer jackets tend to feel more technical and slightly stiffer, but they shine if you ride a lot, hike for turns, or want something that will last many seasons.

Pit zips or chest vents: Huge on warmer days or when you're hiking or traversing.

Cuffs and wrist closures: Should work cleanly with gloves to seal snow out, not let it creep in.
